Stick Paintings- Dance

2017 Work

My stick paintings evolved out of the need to portray the human form in an immediate way, drawing with the other end of the paintbrush (stick) to draw with acrylic paint or ink. Underneath I have laid large, sweeping brushstrokes to suggest the pose or shape in the dancers'/sitter's minds eye ,using gold for the female and bronze for the male, and  how their bodies are intertwined.
